Join Wide Open Studios for our second annual Spring Break MFA retreat. Far from the beer bongs and beach bunnies is Arizona’s Mogollon Rim country, where a 200-mile rock escarpment defines the edge of the Colorado Plateau. It is a place of winding canyons and ponderosa pines, of solitude and splendor.
Rare Waters combines short stretches of backpacking with several days of staying put amidst beautiful surroundings. We’ll provide the food, logistics, and readings to engage our group in the fascinating history and ecology of this region. Students will have time for self-directed projects, exploring, and napping. It is a break, after all. It's a great way to create a lasting network with other artists.
This trip is open to anyone currently enrolled in an MFA or MA program in any discipline. Take a moment to peruse the pictures from last year’s trip, Coyote Canyon.
Participants: Jesse Chehak, Danielle Foushee, Katelyn Hale, Eric Stewart, Stephanie Brachman, Gracelee Lawrence, Jovanni Luna, Mengqian Chen, Leif Lee, Manny Reyes.
