The location of our residency will be on the eastside of Mount Hood National Forest in the White River watershed. The White River and the nearby Badger Creek Wilderness are unique for their biological diversity. We will be in the Cascade transition zone, where the wet west side meets the dry east side. This means we find species from both creating a unique forest landscape. The White River is a tributary to the Deschutes River and because of its otherwise isolated river system and annual sediment concentration from glacial runoff, has plant life and trout that are only found there.
